The Frankfurt Market in Birmingham has set its date for Christmas 2026. Birmingham City Council has announced on its website that the market is due to open on the 5th of November and close on Christmas Eve that is on the 24th of December.
This means the Frankfurt market will be available for 7 weeks for the residents of Birmingham and any travellers arriving in Birmingham.
The Frankfurt Market in Birmingham is a popular and yearly festive event that takes places every year and has become a favourite amongst residents and visitors of Birmingham. The Frankfurt Market is a clear sign that Christmas is just around the corner and the stalls are available on Victoria Square and New Street for everyone to visit.
Birmingham Frankfurt market say they are, “the largest authentic Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria” and offer, “a large range of traditional gifts and a selection of tempting food and drink.” These items include hot food such as pretzels, bratwurst, roasted almonds, and tasty to satiate your thirst such as gluhwein, weissbeer (wheat beer) and hot chocolate.
The opening hours for the market in 2026 are:
- Monday-Thursdays – 11am to 9pm.
- Friday from 11am to 9:30pm.
- Saturdays from 10am to 9:30pm.
- Sundays from 10am to 9:00pm.
On remembrance Sunday on the 8th November, the market will open later at 1pm as a show of respect.
Due to ongoing public work on Bennetts Hill and Temple Street, there will be no stalls opened between Apple store and Nandos on New Street, but the market will be open beyond Corporation Street with stalls at High Street selling crafts.
