A Birmingham mother of seven Sufina Aslam “mentally tortured” her neighbours by throwing nappies, sanitary towels, and food waste over their garden fence.

Sufina Aslam banged on the wall and screamed verbal abuse in a sustained manner in Yardley. The 42 year old mother admitted to two counts of harassment and one count of breaching a restraining order.

On the 22nd October, she was handed a 12 month intense supervision order at the Birmingham Magistrates Court.

The prosecutor Fahad Gazge told the court that, “dirty nappies, sanitary towels and food waste were thrown over the garden fence.”

He went on to state that, “There was banging on the walls and shouting through the walls.”

Mr Gazge read the victim impact statement where a woman living next door described how she was “panicked when she heard Aslam’s voice.”

The victim who’s asked to not be named is 50, and read in her statement that, “I can’t sleep and my health is deteriorating. My children’s education is affected.”

She described the perpetrators actions as, “constant mental torture.”

Her husband wrote in his victim impact statement that, “I can’t live in peace,” and he has had to spend £4000 just to clean up the mess and repair damages to the family home.

The Judge Michelle Smith told the hearing that, “I’ve heard the impact it’s had on the victims in this case,” and she said the offending from Aslam was, “persistent,” with the victim suffering continuously over a period of time.

The judge concluded that, “intense supervision court order rather than custody” was appropriate and Aslam was sentenced to intense supervision with regular contact requirements and was handed a 2 year restraining order.

Aslam was also ordered to pay £70 compensation to the family.
